It Takes Two, or Does It? The Magic of Making Up

TW Jackson, who is the writer of The Magic of Making Up, indicates that you can start the process of rebuilding your relationship all on your own. Why is this? Even though it does take two to get a relationship on an even keel, if you are comfortable with yourself, things will just fall into place. In effect, Jackson’s underlying message indicates that if you work on yourself, you will be able to project your completeness onto your partner.

It seems that the core to understanding what a relationship is boils down to a projection of your internal self. As an example, if you want your partner to be neater and they just won’t do it, maybe the conflict is in your own subconscious since, more than likely, you want to be neater yourself. When people end up working on themselves, as Jackson’s method seems to indicate, their “external” relationships keep changing to keep up with the relationship you have internally with yourself. According to one TW Jackson review this seems to be why his system works well. It’s a different way to look at relationships within and without.
